I am a BAFTA nominated factual Series Producer/Director, PD, EP based in Leeds but very happy to travel and well versed in the vagaries of edit and series producing from home.I am skilled in a number of genres - most notably general factual, current affairs, music, children’s, history and crime. I would say my biggest skill is getting on with people, building relationships, and employing calm, clear headed approach that makes filming and editing both pleasurable and productive.I have worked with high profile presenters like Dan Snow, Martin Lewis, Helen Skelton and Bill Bailey, and various contributors from all sorts of backgrounds as diverse as the Yorkshire Ripper's brother, Cherie Blair, Christine Keeler and a variety of rock and pop stars. I've had no problems dealing with them, getting them to trust me and bringing the best out of them.Presenters, production staff, crew, editors and contributors enjoy working with me because I know my stuff, take decisions and don’t make them do things that have no chance of ever getting on TV. I am constantly editing in my head. In the edit I am decisive but thoughtful and well capable of tailoring scriptwriting to whatever tone is required. I love the process of TV, starting with a blank piece of paper and turning it into something watchable, compelling, moving, entertaining or whatever is required.I've dealt with archive, Ofcom issues, legal challenges, filming abroad and secret filming.
