I am currently seeking opportunities to further my experience for a career in the Television industry.High school has given me many opportunities to experience working life; more specifically, through my work placement at Rebel Uncut. Rebel Uncut is a small production company based in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. Here, I was able to meet a multitude of new people; attend business meetings and help out with the making of a short film for a student. During the two weeks I attended CommsCamp, a convention for people to learn about different technologies and crazes that are sweeping the nation. Whilst I was there the Rebel Uncut team and I conducted interviews with attendees and filmed the convention; which I later went on to edit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX-ZHL1VqqI
After my two weeks I was eager to learn more from the Rebel Uncut team so over the summer holidays of 2016 I returned as an intern, going in once every week to continue working with team on their current productions. This experience made it clear to me that the media industry is where I want to be.
Additionally, I have also been part of a production team for a student film, directed by award winning short film director George Watkins. During the production of this film I helped with many different aspects including; camera work, lighting, sound and cast management. Being the largest production I have been a part of, this enabled me use my organisation and leadership skills to help make the process as smooth as possible. The production was films over a 6 week period during November and December and will be released on YouTube on 1st December 2017.
My experiences have given me many skills which are easily transferable into many aspects of the media industry. My passion for film and television has given me an ambition to be in the industry.
