I have a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Skills that make me an asset for people like you. 

Editing, Producing, Directing or any combination of the three, my goal in whichever role is to tease the most compelling story possible from the material. I am organised, self-motivated, thorough and aware of constraints on time and resources. 

Recent successes in combined producer/ editor roles have seen my rough cuts attacting minimal channel notes and going on to save many man-hours in offline and in post. It's an extremely cost- and time-efficient way of working.

My specific experience and skillset means that as an editor I am focused on the story and led by the rushes, and as a PD I prepare any edit with the best possible starting point both creatively and technically.  With many dozens of hours of broadcast television under my belt, I have edited a wide variety of programming from documentaries (Modern Times, Equinox and other single docs and series) to corporates, commercials, promos, entertainment shows and drama, have directed and edit produced ob. docs and magazine shows for both UK and American broadcasters and have produced and scripted promotional material.

I love working with observational footage and get a kick from thinking through and coordinating technically and logistically challenging edits. I have experience of being lead editor on series, as well as working directly with commissioning teams. I have plenty of experience with rushes management systems such as Limecraft, Tanooki and FORscene/ Blackbird - including multi-camera syncing, logging and editing, automated transcription and subtitle generation, and exchanging files with Avid. I make good use of Avid's script-based tools when working with transcripts.

I am confident editing alone remotely - and actively prefer it - whether on my own kit or via links such as HP Anyware.
I am committed to making eye-catching, accessible and intelligent television and am determined that both I and those I work with should always enjoy the process.
