I am a self-shooting director & producer with 10 years of experience working across long and short-form documentaries, for broadcast, theatrical and online. I have a strong sense of narrative and enjoy telling compassionate, human stories, often in areas with sensitive access. As well as filming on location all over the UK I have a significant amount of shooting experience abroad, directing crew and talent. I take great pride in my cinematography, I’m confident in observational filming, building relationships with contributors, and constructing narratives to make entertaining and dramatic films.I enjoy shooting actuality on prime lenses and have my own FX6 shooting kit. My long and short-form edit experience ensures that I understand how to 'shoot for the edit' both shot and story-wise. I have worked closely in the edit through two complex feature documentaries and I edit all my own short-form branded content and music video work.My first Independent film ‘Another News Story’ was shortlisted for best international feature doc at the 2018 Grierson awards. The film turned the cameras on the journalists covering the 2015 refugee crisis. The film premiered in competition at Karlovy Vary and has since played over 30 Intl film festivals including IDFA, Zurich, Glasgow, and London and I was shortlisted for the breakthrough producer at the BIFA’s.
