Tearaway Films have worked with Jan in a few capacities: Editor (using Premiere); DoP/Cameraman using his own kit; Drone operator using his own kit; Director/Camera. He has proven excellent as a professional in each of these roles. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Jan is an amazing guy. Take for instance the 1-day shoot for The One Show history film, titled Gun Runners (Dir. Navdeep Kandola). This was an immensely complex and potentially fraught day of full-on shooting, in winter, outside and on the run. Jan was DoP/Camera for us and, in the middle of a wind-storm, was Drone Operator too. The shoot was Presenter-led, on the streets of Tottenham and the marshes of Walthamstow with on-the-go interviews, which were interspersed with reconstructed action of a couple of Victorian gun-men. Not only technically but as part of a one-off team, none of whom Jan had worked with before, except me, Jan was a pillar fo patience and competence. His camerawork was superb. Ask to see the results. They are great. As Editor, Jan cut 2 x One Show documentaries 'What Oliver Did Next' & 'The AutistiX' (Dir. Simon Weitzman). They were cut really quickly, but beautifully and sensitively. These films went down incredibly well with the audience and the One Show editorial team. As Dir/Camera, Jan has started to make No Money, No Honey documentary, so far so excellent.
