My name is Sally Harding and I am a Assistant Producer, researcher, TV presenter and journalist. I have a lot of experience in production for shows commissioned by Ireland's national broadcaster RTE and also on other channels both in London and Ireland.I started my production career as a researcher on an RTE ( Ireland's national broadcaster) parenting documentary series called Families in Trouble casting families who were having difficulty with their children and went on to work on some short RTE arts films with Camel Productions.
For two and a half years I was production coordinator and presenter of a weekly lifestyle show called Louth County Matters on Irish TV Sky channel 191. During this time, we produced 120 magazine style shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTTQlz-A3_M&t=108s
Aside from presenting the show I also sourced the show's content, researched the items, generated ideas, wrote scripts and links and coordinated the shoots. Each show was to a tight deadline with a small crew so a lot of responsibility was placed on me every week and new content and creativity had to be applied at all times. We could be covering a community event celebrating a local Olympic athlete in the morning, shooting a piece on the impact of brexit on a border county in the afternoon and then visiting a bereaved family in the evening wanting to promote a charity that helped them in their time of need - always committed to telling the story with the integrity it deserved. We produced local features on every subject imaginable from homelessness, community issues, living with cancer to local history, fashion, music, politics, the arts, red carpet events and much more. We interviewed people in the heart of the community that had never been in front of a camera before but worked with them to build a rapport to allow them to open up and share their story.
I have a background in journalism and have contributed articles to an array of national newspapers, glossy magazines, online platforms, specialist and local titles both in Ireland and in the UK over the last 13 years. I have had many human interest stories published on sensitive issues and have the skills to communicate and get the best out of interviewees as well as practical production experience.
I have spent the last 13 years of my career in media researching stories, generating ideas, booking guests, casting and contacting interviewees in lifestyle media through coordinating shoots, research, writing for both print and TV, presenting and being immersed in creating good content with a deadline. I have a huge passion for telling people's stories and helping to produce thought provoking content.I have experience in casting, sourcing and clearing locations, development, research, dealing with contributors, briefing presenters, coordinating shoots, generating ideas, interviewing, paperwork, writing links, liaising with clients, locations, sponsorship, archive, arranging travel and much more.
