BAFTA-winning director of high-end factual films exploring figures and events that shape modern culture, combining archive, testimony and observational storytelling to bring past and present vividly to life.

Recent work includes Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century (BBC One), turned around in 11 weeks and featuring contributors including Barack Obama, Dame Helen Mirren, Sir David Attenborough and Queen Camilla.

Other credits include Turner: The Secret Sketchbooks (BBC Two / Arena), Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius (BBC Two) and Dictator: The Hitler Interviews (Channel 4 TX 2026).

I created and directed Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace (ITV), winner of the BAFTA, Rose d’Or and TV Choice Awards, and have directed landmark editions of Who Do You Think You Are?.
