Self Shooting PD with proven Scripting, Producing, Directing and Camera skills, Edit Producer on quick turnaround VTs plus Series Director credits. I enjoy working across the whole range of Factual Production, from creating fun formats through to serious issue-led & journalism led content. Happy working in rugged or hostile environments or closer to home with sensitive contributors & delicate situations. I build strong, ethical, enduring relationships with contributors. I have a discreet & sensitive shooting style for Obs Docs & access docs.  I've set-up every kind of shoot imaginable, hired dive boats for underwater shoots, rigged cameras on light aircraft, filmed in canoes and sent presenters rock-climbing up and down cliff faces.I've joined them and contributors high in the tree canopy via rope access specialists and cherry pickers.  All shoots which I have risk assessed, signed off with Insurers and child licences etc obtained where required.  Extensive experience filming in Police cars & Ambulances, rigging cars with minicams and operating fixed rig kit.  Safety compliant filming in cars and vehicle tracking shots.  Competant data manager.

My rushes are well received in the edit with ample story coverage, picture coverage & crystal clear audio.  Able to work alone or direct a large crew.  With 28 years in the industry and 22 years shooting Obs Docs & Formatted Fact Ents I really enjoy leading my teams and mentoring younger colleagues.  I Shoot ALL formats.  Strong camera and lighting skils, technically minded. Edit experience on Avid, FCP & Premiere for sync pulls and basic offline. Unmanned Aerial "drone" Camera Operator.  I also have numerous network, prime-time Lighting Camera credits.  Outside of work my passions are Natural History, the Environment and the great Outdoors.  I like reading and understanding Popular Science, History & watching sports.  A keen Birder and amateur naturalist, I am a member of many conservation organisations and a Trustee of a local conservation charity.  I contribute to Citizen Science projects, wildlife monitoring and take on paid freelance ecological survey work. 

Dual Passports + US iVisa (now expired).  Full UK DL.  Comfortable driving abroad on RHS.  Have filmed Holiday and Property formats in the US and Europe, have shot covertly in Taliban Afghanistan and covered many other hostile, conflict & post-conflict environments in Afica, Asia and the Balkans.
