Ten years of industry experience - the last five at Producer level - who has worked across a multitude of factual entertainment, documentary and sports projects for broadcasters including the BBC & Channel 4. Work has previously been recognised with an RTS Scotland Award in 2023 for Short Form & Broadcast Sports Awards nominations.
I am a high organised problem solver who has a keen eye for identifying stories and is skilled at building and maintaining relationships with access providers, contributors and talent.
Passionate about giving voices the platform to tell their stories, particularly - but not exclusively - from the part of the Venn diagram where human interest and sports meet.
Currently the Studio Producer on BBC Scotland's topical Scottish football programme "A View From The Terrace" where I have previous experience across both the studio & VT elements of the show.
As Studio Producer I have had experience on the fast paced turnaround from scripting to broadcast of the programme which includes direct communication with the programme lawyer and the commissioning editor, managing a studio shoot day, making quick editorial decisions and handling the compliance ahead of final broadcast.
As the VT Producer I was responsible for managing individual shoots as well as the overall series schedule for filming, editing and output. From concept to delivery I was required to be involved intently every step of the way with multiple films at various stages at one time including setting up shoots within busy environments on predetermined dates, attending multiple shoots every week and edit producing the offline edits. Having produced 100+ VTs I have experience with managing shoots which have taken place abroad, within sensitive environments and have discussed sensitive subjects.
Most recent credit at Edit Producer for content around Scotland's participation in Euro 2024.
"Late Night at the Euros with Compston and Smart" was a nightly light entertainment studio programme recorded on location in Munich from a post-production facility in Glasgow. My role had me overseeing the creation of inserts and graphics for the programme along with assembly of the presenter led interview VT that would be filmed on location in Germany ahead of the afternoon record. During the record I would watch via a live link in order to factcheck the content and collate edit notes before completing the compliance form for each episode.
"Get to Germany" was an online travel entertainment series narrated by Iain Stirling for alcoholic beverage brand Tennent's.
I was responsible for reviewing footage being sent from on location in Europe before producing a paper edit with overall episode structure and story beats for an editor to assemble remotely. Providing my own edit notes and placeholder voiceover before sending the first version to the client for notes then finding resolutions to feedback and preparing voiceover scripts and requesting graphics and animations to deliver final version with cutdowns. Working over several episodes simultaneously with fixed deadlines and delivery schedule.
