Mike is a talented and versatile Director of Photography with extensive experience of shooting across all genres, for all the major broadcasters, on literally hundreds of projects. His background is in commercials and documentaries and he has an excellent working knowledge of all film, video and digital formats. Many of the films have won BAFTA, Prix Italia, RTS, Montreux, New York Film Festival awards and received nominations for outstanding photography from both the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (Gemini) and the Royal Television Society.Drawing on his rich and diverse documentary experience in particular enables him to work with calmness, creativity and speed. Mike is a member of the Association of Camera Operators (ACO) and has completed both the Tiffen Gold and the GBCT Steadicam training courses. He is completely comfortable filming in what might be considered challenging environments and has filmed in over eighty countries worldwide, covering the full range of conditions: rain forests, deserts, oceans, mountains including Everest and both the Arctic and Antarctica.
