I'm a multi-lingual self-shooting PD, director of photography and journalist making documentaries, reportage and factual programming internationally, with particular experience in China, where I lived for almost a decade. My work has been featured by media including The BBC, PBS, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, The New York Times, and VICE, as well as non-media clients like the UN, Canon and Nike, and won recognition including a World Press Photo and Peabody Awards. 

My feature-length documentary 'Made in Ethiopia', which I directed, DoPd, produced and co-edited, won awards including a Special Jury Mention at the 2024 Tribeca Festival, has screened at dozens of international festivals and been bought by over 10 major international broadcasters. 

Based in London, I combine sensitivity with experience working in complex and often hostile environments, both as a one-man-band and with larger teams, to tell stories that are urgent but intimate, never losing sight of the humanity or the facts.

I have worked extensively across North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, with multiple trips to North Korea and remote areas of China. I have covered humanitarian crises and conflict, and have full hostile environments training.

I am experienced with a broad range of cameras including Canon C300 and c70s, Sony FS7, FX9 and FX6, Arri, Black Magic and DSLRs, as well as comlpex lighting setups and gimbals. I am a licensed drone pilot. My personal gear includes C300 MKii and Sony a7 III, a range of prime and zoom lenses, DJI Ronin S and DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone.

I'm fluent in editing softwares Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Avid and Da Vinci. I speak, read and write fluent Mandarin, Spanish and basic French.
