I have never felt the urge to be a comedian so even I was surprised at what I had said. Had her reply been "that's good" I can honestly say I would not be doing what I am doing today. So a show at the fringe for my fiftieth it was. I had not planned on carrying on but things just developed before I knew it I was up and down the country doing stand-up. Line ups with Johnny Vegas in Manchester and being booed off in Leicester. TV & Radio appearances followed silly stuff, but I was learning and watching everything that was going on. Two years ago the kids bought me a director's course and I realised that making a film was exactly like building a house the same template. I knew how to build houses I had built literally hundreds as a bricklaying sub-contractor through the eighties. Equipped with two directors courses, one script writing course and all the knowledge from doing comedy I was ready to make a film. Well almost? with the reading age of eleven of which I'm very proud, seeing that I was slung out of school at the age of ten. I knew this was going to be tougher than I thought. I have never read a book. Being slightly dyslexic reading is as much fun as eating a doughnut with no jam. When I set out on this journey I knew I wasn't doing it for financial reasons. I think once you have started something worth doing bringing it to its conclusion is the driving force. I am ashamed to admit I still have never read a book. Reading gives you knowledge and with knowledge you will grow. But I do have two bits of advice that I can pass on, firstly: Let your weakness's become your strengths. Secondly: You do not need to take notes because what you need to know you will remember. I wrote and acted in The magic pills of Petts wood a full feature film raising Several Thousand pounds for small charities More recently directed an award winning documentary "The Mentor". Currently I am the Lead singer in the most Unsuccessful Rock Band in the world.. "The Viagra Fool" Which I have written a Musical "A Fools Tale"
