Alice is a TV writer and director based in London. With a background in factual TV Alice has a knack for taking complex historical stories and presenting them through a modern lens. Her work draws on real events to build rich worlds that are rooted in historical accuracy.Alice’s independent short documentary Invisible Women (2018) won numerous international awards including Best International Short Gaze (2019), Best British Short Iris Prize (2019), Jury Award for Best International Short at Oslo/Fusion Film Festival (2019) and the Best of British Shorts at Queer Vision (2019). It was selected for BFI Flare (2019) with two sold out screenings and it was selected by NewFest to open World Pride 2019 in NYC marking 50 years since the Stonewall Riots.Her most recent series The Rise of the Nazis: The Downfall (BBC 2, 2022) is a powerful and resonant series that shows how Hitler clung to power in the final days of the Third Reich. Alice’s next project The Kill List: Hunting the Regicides (Sky History) tells the story of the English Civil War through one of the biggest manhunts in English history. Told like a Kill Bill revenge thriller it will explore Charles II’s bloody vendetta against the men who murdered his father.Alice is also currently writing a narrative series, a queer feminist Western set in 18th Century America, which has been optioned and is being developed by Relish TV.
