I've self-shot and directed everything from impressionistic drama reconstruction, to access-based prison docs, to complex surgeries and I've steered the style and story arc for multiple first series and singles.
I'm expert at working with A-list talent to explore subjects on a large scale and telling epic tales from history with archive.
For me, story is king. So I have conducted up to 6 hour interviews with cocaine traffickers, astronauts and district attorneys for blow by blow accounts, ensuring every detail is covered.
A strong storyteller with a solid journalistic background, I enjoy making intelligent, emotionally-resonant, thought-provoking films. Whether directing DoPs or self-shooting I make stories sing with visual flair. I'm an experienced and creative lighting camera operator happy working with a variety of tools from sliders to tilt shift lenses. I also have over15 years' experience crafting films in the edit.
I've filmed in multiple remote and demanding locations and am a calm, organised and efficient team leader.
