An individual who has script edited over eighty-five hours of scripted content and is driven by the need to help storytellers tell stories by helping them prise out the narratives that lie restless in their imaginations.

With a track record working on HETV, including Sky’s ‘Prisoner’ and UKTV/PBS’s ‘Annika’, a deep understanding of the craft of writing and working with writers is constantly demonstrated. My infectious enthusiasm for broadcast and streamed fiction is put to use across both development and production.

I thrive on seeking out new talent. I’ve seen 87 plays at the Edinburgh Fringe over four years, including analysing seven plays over three days to find distinctive voices for Mam Tor Productions. As well as coordinating readers on the ‘River City’ and ‘Casualty’ spec script submission systems, I also produced detailed assessments recognising potential new talent by using strategic tools to spot strong craft and technic. I would then work with new writers to fit their skills into a long running drama series. By undertaking scripted development work for Evil Doghouse Studios, I provided extensive notes on a pilot script, character biographies and episode synopses; detailing considerations on character, structure, plot and dialogue.

In all my roles I analyse dramatic material, reporting my own and producer feedback and communicating script meeting outcomes to writers clearly and succinctly by taking diligent, comprehensive and thorough notes. I make sure the writers’ views are heard and support them through the script writing process.

My early career was forged in the story factories of continuing drama. Most importantly having spent most of my career in Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow I have a great knowledge of writing talent across the UK.

I am currently on BECTU Vision’s Producer Development Programme, where I am developing my knowledge of being at the heart of the creative process of a production as a Producer and learning key logistical tools to help bring a television series to the screen.
