I script edit, develop and produce TV shows, films and audio projects. I’ve freelanced and also worked in-house at production companies and at a broadcaster, so have experience of both sides of the commissioning process. I also have experience of different styles of writers’ rooms and of script editing multiple episodes of a TV show simultaneously during development, pre-production and – as is the nature of this business – while shooting.

I have great relationships with talent, crew and agents. And my screenwriting background gives me an affinity with writers, which I believe helps them trust and engage with me – and me engage with their work – more empathetically. This makes it easier to find the best creative solutions, to deliver the story and scripts that align with everyone’s vision and to meet agreed deadlines.

As a Black woman who entered this industry at a later age, after a career change, I have a passion for helping underrepresented writers to not only break in but to also understand the value of their stories, the importance of their voice and the contribution they can make. However, I am just as excited to work with more experienced writers who are equally passionate about their work.

I’m a BAFTA Connect member and a voting member of BIFA (British Independent Film Association). And due to my particular bent towards comedy – which I see as a brilliant tool for telling difficult, thought-provoking stories in an easily-digestible way –  I am also a non-executive director of Funny Women.
