I am also a Wildscreen nominated sound recordist and have worked on many BBC Natural Worlds and Horizons. In addition, I have set up and planned the pre-production for shoots: organising equipment for an entire African shoot, sourcing period props for drama reconstructions and setting up car rigs for camera and sound, for factual entertainment.

Ewan has worked on two testing shoots in Africa with us and has been the consummate professional on both.
He's an extremely professional soundman; can operate as a very knowledgeable camera assistant, and (more importantly on hard shoots in foreign countries) he is also fantastic fun to have around. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.
I worked with Ewan on a project I directed and produced for the Museum of London. He is an excellent sound recordist and an all round pleasure to work with. I'd very much recommend him.
I didn't think it was possible, but Ewan's 'can do' enthusiasm and energy for production is matched by his technical knowledge. Ewan has a broad range of experience across broadcast genres and it really shows. Not only is he a great sound recordist, he's also an excellent Cammera Assistant. He knbows his stuff. He can predict what lenses might be used for a scene and will have them ready. He instinctively knows where to place stands and tripods and as a 2nd unit shooter can also get some impressive results. He's a great allrounder and a smart and capable member of any documentary / specialist Fact production. I'd have zero hesitation in having him join me on a shoot again and I hope that'll be sooner than later.
Ewan is very talented and versatile. I've worked with him on a number of demanding shoots where he's made himself absolutely indispensable. In addition to his technical proficiency in sound recording & lighting, he's also talented in creating and sourcing props and dealing with contributors/actors. Ewan is hardworking, reliable and good-humoured. It's a real pleasure to work alongside him and I have no reservation in recommending him as a most valuable colleague.
Ewan is an exceptional and extremely versatile TV individual. Like a walking Swiss army knife, Ewan was indispensable in helping me set up technically demanding shoots, sound operating, and DITing. I never found a limit to his capabilities. He's also very good company.
I've worked with Ewan on a number of projects - from fast turnaround no-budget music videos, to corporate and on a 60' Natural World shooting across Africa and he's always been extremely hard working, diligent and competent. His sound recording and mixing is up to scratch and he is excellent at DIT work and solving problems in the field. I'd very much recommend him.
I have been extremely lucky to work with Ewan on a number of demanding shoots and I could not recommend him more highly both from a technical expertise point of view, and because he's such a calming, helpful and creative presence on the team. His sound work is top rate and he can make the most highly-strung contributor calm down in seconds, he can also fix anything kit-related. In addition, his camera work is very impressive and he can coax words out of the shyest of interviewees. I hope to work with him again soonest.
Ewan is a great guy to have on location. Helpful and competent in every respect. Top of my list every time I want a sound guy from Attenborough shoot to wild tigers.
I have hired Ewan on numbers high profile projects over the last few years. I have sent him all over the world on various Natural World films as well as working on history docs. Not only a good sound recordist but also a team player. He is a great asset to any team. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Ewan is a great addition to any production team. He is versatile and hardworking, can be trusted to work independently and also be a great member of the team bringing a good sense of humour alongside his technical and production skills. Ewan has technical skills from sound recording to camera assisting and DIT and also experience in working as part of the production team researching and sourcing props and is capable in the office as well as out on location.
