Emmy Award–winning documentary executive and executive producer of an Oscar-nominated film, with a long track record of delivering ambitious, journalistically rigorous documentaries that connect powerfully with audiences and stand up to the highest editorial, legal and ethical scrutiny.
I began my career as a journalist and that instinct still drives everything I do. Accuracy, fairness, clarity and public value sit at the core of my work. I have worked across investigative current affairs, authored and access-led films, constructed factual, observational documentary, and long-form documentary in the UK and internationally. I am known for combining forensic editorial judgement with creative leadership, shaping complex and high-risk stories into powerful, human films without compromising standards.
Most recently, as a senior commissioning editor for BBC Storyville, I led a slate of high-impact international documentaries for BBC Two and iPlayer, commissioning and executive-producing films from leading UK and global filmmakers. My work has premiered at Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA and Sheffield Doc Fest, and has been recognised with Oscars, Emmys, BAFTAs and New York Festivals Gold Towers. Alongside creative leadership, I strengthened editorial culture and compliance, embedding Panorama-level green light, fact checking and duty of care processes, and making tough editorial calls when needed.
I am deeply experienced in casting, contributor care and long-term relationship management, and I bring calm, decisive leadership to demanding productions. My work regularly involves international filming, co-production, complex legal and safeguarding issues, and close collaboration with independent producers, broadcasters and funders. I am known for bringing clarity, momentum and reassurance when the pressure is on.
Selected highlights include:

After a successful career in public service broadcasting, I am leaving the BBC to return to hands-on production and consultancy, working editorially and creatively at senior level. Available from late April, I am open to executive producing, series editing, producing, development, and senior editorial and creative consultancy roles.
I bring authority, emotional intelligence and creative ambition to every project, and I am particularly drawn to work that combines journalistic rigour, strong storytelling and real cultural impact.
