On September 1 2017 SMA Talent and Salon Pictures launch EFSCA (Emerging Film Score Composer Award) in a bid to find a composer for Salon Pictures' forthcoming feature documentary FRED. I have over 25 years experience in the music and film business. Many moons ago I decided to resign from gainful employment and to join forces with husband, Olav, to create the composer agency, SMA Talent. SMA is one of the UK’s leading international film and tv composer management agencies and 4 years ago expanded the company’s offering to include film directors and screenwriters. Our extensive network of relationships within the industry is based on a hard-won reputation for representing the most creative talent. Delivering Excellence is our core belief.Before starting SMA I had a varied career, primarily in the music business and always with a leaning towards marketing, sales and promotion.  I worked at many major record companies working alongside Olav as he moved from company to company, as well as a year’s stint in Paris in the international department of Barclay Records. Spent many years at Mike Gill Associates, a specialist music industry PR company whose clients included Rod Stewart, Dusty Springfield, Status Quo and Jerry Lee Lewis and others. Also Artist Relations and International Manager with GM and Riva Records, two companies within the same group, which was headed by Billy Gaff, the long-time manager of Rod Stewart. Headhunted by The Rolling Stones to work with them as their PA/organiser but declined their offer as I didn’ t want to work abroad again. How crazy was I! Worked with Charles Aznavour and the US band Three Dog Night. Routinely organised both artist’s concert tours, tv and radio appearances and general liaison with the entertainment media. For three years was International Manager of Andrew Heath Music, a London music publishing company with offices in Hamburg and Vienna. The company also became a partner in Ronnie Bond Music and Carolynne marketed and promoted that business to become a leading jingles and commercial operation in the UK and Germany. Read Less
