I am a director, producer and edit producer with over 25 years professional experience in film & television. Having studied fine art & film at The Glasgow School of Art, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago & Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, my first short films on graduation were screened at festivals across the world. "How High the Castle Walls" was nominated for Best director at the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards in 1998 & won Best Short at Cinequest Festival (Oscar qualifying).
I have worked on BAFTA winning drama & documentaries in Arts, Childrens, Factual, including "Balamory", "Junk Rescue", "Artworks Scotland", "The Insiders Guide to the Menopause" (with Kirsty Wark).
My latest short "Maureen" had an entirely female cast and crew, premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2022, and has been winning awards at festivals around the world, including Best Director at Phoenix Shorts in Canada, Best Writing at Topaz Festival in Texas, Best Actors at Best Actors Festival in San Fransisco, Runner Up Audience Choice & Commended in drama at WOFF in Lewes, Best Film in the English Language at La femme Film Festival in Paris who will screen it at Cannes.
I specialise in bringing the best out of new talent, and nurturing existing talent to greater heights. I can work with crews of any size, and can self shoot, am very experienced in all aspects of production from prep to shoot to final stages of post production and delivery.
