I joined the BBC in 2000 as a radio producer, moved into TV as a broadcast journalist in current affairs and factual in 2003, and have been a shooting PD since 2010, freelance since 2015.  

I direct, edit-produce and shoot factual and talent-led television, often performing all three roles on the same series. My credits span observational and historical documentaries, and specialist factual and popular factual series and singles, mostly at 30 and 60 minutes (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, and Netflix). 

I enjoy the challenge of generating ideas, shaping scripts and enriching the story in the edit. Having worked in teams of every size, to a huge range of budgets and deadlines, I'm confident I can get the best out of people on both sides of the camera and find a workable and creative solution to any problems during the shoot or edit.

I've directed and shot across the UK, Europe, the USA (current Ivisa, valid to 2027), Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. I self-shoot on my own Sony FX6 kit, and am equally comfortable running a production alone or within a lean or large crew.
