I’m a freelance development producer, a former BBC senior broadcast journalist and an author of books on various historical subjects. I have 15 years experience in TV production, focusing on factual dramas. From March 2013 until October 2015 I was at BBC Factual, where my projects included The Gamechangers, a 1 x 90’ factual drama for BBC2 about the video game Grand Theft Auto, starring Daniel Radcliffe. I developed the proposal, then moved into production, supporting the writer and exec in maintaining accuracy to the standard demanded by BBC lawyers and editorial policy staff. From 2003 to 2011, I was the Head of Research at Dangerous Films where I performed similar roles in factual dramas covering a variety of subjects. I wrote story proposals, researched scripts, advised directors on set, supported execs and commissioners, and prepared publicity material.
