'You really fashioned pure gold out of very little, and the film was an object lesson on how to handle this kind of subject... Magnificent stuff and I remained rivetted. A great watch' was the email a tv giant, rival and former colleague sent me after he had seen The Nazi Temple of Doom. Of course along with my partner David Edgar I took all the credit, but it was Steve who had so skilfully fashioned the pure gold. With few resources and a tenuous story Steve made a film that was very watchable, with engaging characters, and became the top rating show in Revealed's latest run. Visually stylish and tonally bang on target, the film has also sold internationally to a wide audience. Steve was a delight to work with too, committed, smart and ego-light. I'll be trying to employ him again soon.

Charles Furneaux Exec Producer

Steve has worked with me as an Edit Producer and Director on Drama Doc series 'I Shouldn't Be Alive' (Discovery's Animal Planet) and observational documentary series 'Ladyboys' (SKY Living).

On the former he filmed key interviews that make up the spine of the film - (the testimony is also used to create the drama script for the actors who then dramatise it). These interviews would often be with people who've not told their story before and would be very long and fraught with emotion. But we needed the interviewees to tell their story in minute detail and with enough emotional depth to carry the film. Steve was able to guide them through their stories carefully and sensitively and to get the strong sync that we needed.

On both programmes he worked as an Edit Producer and was extremely capable at taking other people's films and quickly cutting through them to the find the strongest editorial line. He is a good scriptwriter, very collaborative and happy to take direction.

I recommend him highly and will definitely be working with him again.
