Ash was Series Producer on a new history show. I developed and EP'd the series. As a development person, you always hand projects over to a Series Producer with a little trepidation, especially when it's one, like this, that you really love and feel you've nurtured. Not only did I feel really confident from day one that it was in safe hands with Ash but, more than that, the series he delivered way exceeded the image I had in my mind. It's more dramatic, more insightful, and more beautiful than I'd have dared to hope.

Ash combined a number of roles and did each of them brilliantly. He ran a happy, productive and focused team. He directed two episodes, each of which demonstrates his superb storytelling and visual skills. He also directed our drama recon, turning a tight budget into wonderfully cinematic sequences.

Ash was really well liked by both the production team and presenters. He was across every episode in the edit, showing an incredible grasp of detail while retaining a clear view of the bigger picture. He is also a complete joy to work with!

I worked with Ashley on two series - Harrow: A Very British School, and Young Vets. He's a tremendously talented PD - a wonderful shooter with a great eye, tirelessly capturing great actuality on long filming days - and producing consistently high quality rushes guaranteed to keep the edit happy. He is also very skilled at lighting interviews and other set ups to add a touch of class to a production. He is very strong in the edit too. On location, editorially he is thorough, very creative and collaborative, and able to build strong and lasting relationships with contributors - all of which makes an SP's life so much easier - and him a joy to have on the team.
