I absolutely love making TV, and am keen on exploring the world through travel, culture, design, food, the natural world, and history, and telling compelling human stories.A passion for research (both of the academic and truffle-hunting kind) originally lead me to the BBC, and an equal passion for storytelling has kept me open to exploring different kinds of programme-making from glossy to gritty in different genres. I can do glam and work with high-end locations, and then fit in with the A&E staff in the Bronx - this flexibility has allowed me to have worked on a pretty broad range of programmes, from presenter-lead travel, to studio shows, to unscripted and constructed reality, to obs docs within Factual, Specialist Factual, and FactEnt.This eclectic approach means I have also excelled at a variety of production roles from shaping overall narrative during pre-production and in the edit (I really enjoy Edit Producing) to contributor casting and setting up/on location during fast-paced shoots both in the UK and abroad. I've worked with many household names (such as Angela Rippon and Huw Edwards) and new presenters finding their feet. I'm also very detail-oriented and confident dealing with legal issues, clearance, sensitive access, and compliance.While bringing up my children, I've been busy with a smorgasbord of freelance work that has allowed me to be at the school gates every day: book editing (akin to edit producing); translating from French and Italian for publication/websites; tv research projects; Chair of our primary school PTA for five years; project-managing and running several festivals: living history (Medieval and Roman) and yoga; managing husband’s media strategy business and making advertisements for clients’ albums (including Jane MacDonald, Marty & Kim Wilde, and Eva Cassidy) using both archive and material I've shot myself.
