Coming from a background of Life Sciences and Zoological study, I have always been comfortable conducting biological research, particularly on wildlife and conservation topics. With this knowledge base, I undertook a Masters programme in Wildlife Documentary Production at the University of Salford. This period of study allowed me to develop the practical skills necessary for the production of a wildlife documentary, but also furthered my research (and general pre-production skills) knowledge, by making it more applicable to the Natural History industry. The conclusion of this programme was the entire production of a children's wildlife documentary, for the 5-7 year old age group, which documented some of the wildlife that can be found in the UK.During my studies, I undertook a number of work placements, primarily in a researcher role which gave me first-hand industry experience of these roles. Having completed my studies, I worked as a Project Manager and Graphics Operator, with responsibility for a number of nationally, and internationally broadcast shows. This opportunity gave me valuable experience of working on live broadcasts, but also of leading a large and diverse staffing in the delivery of series' of programming. In my spare time, I am in the process of developing a number of shows, both as scripted programming, but also as printed fictional stories. Read Less
