I’d been wading through and cutting enormous amounts of footage on a documentary I'd been hired to edit when Kate was brought on board to help steer the ship and work on story.

While I was relieved to finally have help, I’d been concerned that a new producer would attempt to reinvent the edit-wheel; sacrificing much of the work that had been done and demand the impossible from the mostly challenging materiel. I needn’t have worried at all and very quickly trusted in her sensitivity, judgment, many years experience and insightful storytelling expertise. She immediately grasped the many complexities involved, rapidly took the multi-faceted subject by the horns, and worked out the best and most achievable way to deliver what the filmmakers were after. Very quickly, Kate provided an honest, insightful assessment of realistic solutions and much needed direction to move the project forward and give it the most impactful outcome possible. Working in the edit with a true collaborator, as well as such a kind and appreciative person, was a joy and I genuinely hope there is a next time!

She'll work relentlessly with the rushes to make sure she's presenting the best possible version of a film, even when the rushes are challenging.
