She has worked on some of the BBC’s most ambitious landmark Arts series: the highly acclaimed reimagining of Civilisations, working closely with presenters such as Simon Schama, Mary Beard, and David Olusoga. After that, she developed, pitched and produced Art that Made US, a 8 part series for BBC2 charting the history of Britain through Art objects.
Working closely with Denys Blakeway she made the 2 part series, “The Cameron Years” for BBC1 and is presently working on a dramatisation of Liz Truss’s 49 days in office with writer John Preston and producer Ellie Wood. She has also developed a feature documentary with Kevin Macdonald for BBC Storyville, called The Last King of Nepal, presently looking for finance.
She produced all of Niall Ferguson’s programmes for C4 and PBS and ran his production company for over a decade.
Melanie has just finished at 72 films after producing a 3 part drama doc on the life and works of Amadeus Mozart.
