Experienced Series Producer and Director with extensive writing and edit experience. Specialist factual / ob-doc / science / sport / history / feature docs.

A talented and creative self shooter. I've taken individual episodes, feature length shows and multiple full series from commission through to final delivery for many of the world's best known television channels - series producing National Geographic, Channel 4 and Discovery Science shows amongst others and directing for Netflix, Nat Geo, BBC, PBS, France 5 etc.

I've successfully pitched and then directed for feature length documentaries. I've got many years edit experience across a range of shows - including overseeing many series' as series producer / show runner - so I can plan story, write scripts and structure episodes rapidly for a variety of audiences.I've overseen edits of series and one off documentaries entirely remotely - working with an editor and collaborating using shared Avid projects.

I've overseen many hours worth of CGI content - working closely with graphics companies to develop the style and write detailed scripts and briefs, ensuring a smooth pipeline and on schedule and on budget delivery. 

I'm highly experienced setting up and filming in remote areas around the world, both self shooting in a small team, and running large crews of 20+ people as SP. I shoot to a high standard on Sony FX9/FS7, Arri Amira, Red Gemini and other cameras and have experience with a variety of smaller cameras and with prime lenses in 4K. I've also directed many hours of drone and helicopter aerial shoots using cineflex cameras and heavy lift drones.

My one-off documentary for CBC Canada's long running 'The Nature of Things' strand, won a Canadian Academy Award, my Channel 4 one off documentary 'Egypt's Great Pyramid: The New Evidence' won silver in the New York Festivals International Television awards, while my PBS Nova series 'Making North America' earned me a Science Journalism award from the AAAS and was nominated in the Jackson Hole Science Media Awards.

I studied biological sciences at degree level - so highlights of my career so far have been filming polar bears in sub arctic Canada and working in the wilds of Alaska.

I live and work from the French Alps where I have a well set up office to work from remotely. I have a full Sony FS7 shooting package and sound kit available for hire and located in France (in Chamonix) near the Swiss and Italian border - so I can cover shoots here without the need to travel back to the UK. I have a drone license to operate almost anywhere in Europe. Read Less
