Richard is a versatile, creative and ambitious Director and Series Producer (at times doing both simultaneously). A skilled writer, storyteller and originator of ideas; he has amassed experience across documentary and narrative fiction projects – his work going on to be win or be nominated / longlisted for prestigious awards. With more than 40 hours of documentaries for major UK and US broadcasters and SVOD streamers (including Netflix) under his belt – predominantly in the true crime arena – he’s used to telling complex stories in an engaging thought provoking and intelligent way; both single and multi-episode films.
 
The genre often involves working with vulnerable and traumatized contributors, and Richard has an empathetic intuitive approach that enables interviewees to tell their story while being carefully guided to get the best out of them for the film. Backed up by sharp legal and journalistic skills, his films are as robust as they are compelling. With experience as a producer and showrunner, Richard understands budgets and schedules and is a caring motivational manager.
