He recently worked on the BBC series Fake or Fortune?, winner of the 2016 RTS West Award for Best Factual Programme.Simon began his career at BBC Wales in the Arts and Music Department. After six great years at the BBC he wanted to spread his wings and as a freelance PD he went on to produce programmes for all the main broadcasters including ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Discovery and National Geographic, as well as the BBC.In 2003 Simon produced and directed Griff Rhys Jones on the groundbreaking BBC series Restoration. Simon and Griff then co-founded the production company Modern Television. With Simon as CEO and Executive Producer the company grew exponentially, winning the Fast Growth 50 award for fastest growing media business in Wales in 2009 and 2010.In 2011, after six years running the company Simon decided to return to hands-on programme-making. He now enjoys working as a freelance PD and Series Producer, bringing his skills and experience to a wide variety of factual and fact ent productions. Over the past year Simon has also been a visiting lecturer at the Film School at the Arts University Bournemouth, where he has enjoyed exchanging knowledge and ideas with a new generation of programme makers.Throughout his career, Simon has amassed vast experience at both network and regional levels. He has managed large production teams and handled multi-million pound budgets. But he also knows how to make more limited budgets go a long way. He is skilled at handling high profile talent and he has extensive experience of international filming. He is a stylish and imaginative programme maker who is passionate about telling great stories in entertaining ways.
