I am a Grierson nominated self-shooting Producer/Director with a strong track record on sensitive, character-led documentaries. Most recently I have made two films for the BBC Panorama strand. I directed Catching a Killer: A Diary from the Grave for Channel 4, a 90-minute film following the stranger-than-fiction murder investigation into the death of an elderly teacher. The Times gave the film a five-star review, calling it “exceptional”, “extraordinary” and “riveting”. I have a wealth of experience in casting and negotiating difficult access. I have worked extensively with vulnerable contributors, particularly children and young adults. I have made two half hour Dispatches films about the financial struggles facing mothers in an age of austerity. I directed Raining in my Heart with Brian Woods for ITV, which told the personal stories of three children undergoing specialist cancer treatments at Great Ormond Street Hospital; this was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2015 Griersons.
