I featured on the 'BBC New Talent Hotlist' and was later chosen for the BBC Director Scheme – an initiative for up-and-coming directing talent. I later went on to Produce and Direct, 'The Man Who Used HIV As A Weapon', a single documentary which tells the intimate accounts of 5 men who were abused by Daryll Rowe; the first man to be convicted of deliberately infecting men with HIV. Since then I have directed a number of single films as part of BBC1s current affairs programme We Are England. I've overseen projects from inception through to completion, including finding ideas, pitching and securing access, self-shooting and taking films into the edit.I have a passion for issue-led documentary, and have had several of my own ideas commissioned. I am creative in my approach to shooting (C300, FS7, PMW200, XF300, SLR's) and I am always looking for new and inventive ways to tell stories that otherwise would not be heard. I pride myself on nurturing personal narratives and on tackling sensitive topics in difficult access environments.
