My positive outlook when things are tough and my abilities to problem solve & think outside-the-box have paid dividends over the years. I love my job and find working with creative people very rewarding. When working with a new crew I pride myself on quickly creating a happy and productive atmosphere especially when the conditions are harsh for all concerned.
I specialise in covert audio and video techniques and have unique experience in creating hides to collect audio and video in any scenario.
I regularly work on BBC EastEnders as Fisher Boom op, BBC TheOneShow, BBC Film 2016, BBC WatchDog & BBC Sunday Morning Live as sound assistant. I am currently working on Ch4's Eden (Keo Films) as sound supervisor.....a year long production in a challenging environment....transmission resumes in Jan 2017.
My location sound recordist work has taken me globally to some of the most socially & environmentally challenging locations: India- New Delhi, Ghana- Accra, South Africa- Cape Town, Nigeria- Port Harcourt, Kenya- various and many cities within European and the Americas.
Clients have included ITV, ITN, BBC, Ch4, KeoFilms, Engine, TrailerPark, AnalogFolk, Optimistic.
I also work regularly on commercial and corporate productions for companies such as SSV, Quarantine, InformationTV, NetNatives, Optimistic and ScreenBusiness.I've worked in the TV industry since 1990 having trained in television programme operations at Ravensbourne School of TV.
I have all of my own location sound ENG/PSC kit:
Sound Devices 552 & 633 mixers, Sennheiser MKH60, MKH50 & Ambeo all with Rycote wind shields, fish poles, 7xRadio Mic kits with a variety of Cos11 mics and mounting options. Wireless hops to cameras. Remote capsule mics for vehicle fits.
Fully RF licensed for ch38.
Portable location recording DAW (40ch @96kHz, digital audio workstation).
AEA Decca Tree for classical music and choir recordings.
