In my career as a documentary editor I have cut feature docs, docudramas, observational doc singles and series, arts, history, science and current affairs programmes, factual entertainment and some reality tv. Before becoming freelance I owned and ran a well-established post-production and sometime production company in London’s Soho. My career has spanned several occupations within the industry. I have been a producer, a director, a writer but always an editor - occasionally all four at once - on award winning documentaries, dramas, features, corporates and commercials. This breadth of experience has given me a very strong grasp of structure and narrative, good judgement, well developed timing and an instinctive feel for how to make the best of whatever material I'm given. I'm able to work well as part of a team, but I'm also happy to get a project underway and take it forward unsupervised if that is what's required. Although based in the UK, I am extremely familiar with international co-production, having worked in LA, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and the Middle East. Editing is my passion as well as my job. There is nothing I love more than making the material sing, whatever the content, and whether it's obviously brilliantly conceived and shot, or initially unpromising. Sometimes the biggest challenge is the greatest fun. If required, I can work at home on an Avid Media Composer in a very pleasant cutting room in SW11. Read Less
