I started working in TV in 1989 working as an AFM on shows like Hale and Pace, Smith and Jones, Mr. Bean etc I soon established a position as Floor Manager and 1st AD in Light Entertainment and Comedy Drama. In 2001 I was asked to AD UK Survivor followed by a second season in Panama. I then got a taste for shooting abroad, my biggest privilege meeting and working with the local teams. Escape to the Legion was my first experience working with Bear Grylls and over the years, 10 to be exact, I have worked in many remote areas of the globe. Although I haven’t been exclusive to BG much of the work has been generated from him. What a journey! Over the last few years not only have I been working as an AD for the shoots but also involved as the Location Producer, advising Production for suitable countries and locations to film. This includes finding in country fixers, remotely finding locations, scouting with the fixer, filming and presenting the scout for Production, scheduling, meeting pilots and discussing flight plans, finding good access and egress from each location, organising evac procedures and evac companies, sourcing animal wranglers, finding the action sequences, sometimes testing them out with my safety team, building a relationship with the local teams, military, police and all contractors.
