About Me

Experienced Producer of premium docs and popular factual programming (BBC One/Two, Channel 4, PBS, YouTube Originals, Migu China) covering a wide range of subject matter and genres.

I have exposed food industry secrets for Channel 4 consumer affairs shows (Secrets of the Supermarket Own Brands; The Big Pound Shop Swap), unpacked the history of innovation behind Big Tech for BBC Two science (The Secret Genius of Modern Life) and charted the rise of Artificial Intelligence for YouTube Originals international co-pro (The Age of A.I. with Robert Downey Jr.).

I have cast two series of the much-loved BBC Two obs-doc This Farming Life, giving me a detailed understanding of the issues facing the agricultural sector. I have finished work on the 2026 series of BBC Scotland’s hugely popular lifestyle show Scotland’s Home of the Year.

My experience also covers premium arts docs on the social history of disco music (BBC Two/PBS - Disco Inferno: The Sound of the Underground), and presenter-led history programmes on the reign of Queen Anne and George IV (BBC Two/PBS - Royal History’s Biggest Fibs).

I have directed and edit produced films during the pandemic about schools in Greenock, and the Jewish community in Glasgow (BBC One - The One Show). I have further directing credits on science series The Secrets of the Superagers (Channel 4/Migu China) with stories on the immune system and brain health.

I can shoot (FX6) and edit (Final Cut Pro).

I have extensive experience working with high-profile talent, and with dealing sensitively with contributors when covering difficult subject matter.

I can successfully secure and manage complex access to organisations and to individuals.

I have filmed widely across the UK and Europe, the US, Japan, and have managed remote shoots in China and Hong Kong. I have extensive experience managing crews, research teams, and working with fixers.

I can plan and schedule complex international shoots, develop and script compelling narratives, and deal effectively with difficult situations – including compliance and editorial policy referrals.

My career in TV began in Northern Ireland working on current affairs documentaries about sex work legislation, restorative justice, and investigating attitudes to immigration before and after the Brexit referendum. Before TV, I taught English to junior high and elementary school kids in Japan, as part of the Japanese government-run JET Programme.
