Flora is an inspirational team leader of documentary filmmakers. At Al Jazeera English, she created the Witness strand of observational documentaries, building and nurturing a team of people around her to commission untold human stories from independent filmmakers all around the world.

Under Flora's leadership, the Witness team developed a string of other documentary strands and series including Artscape, which explored Arab protest poets, African photographers and rebel architects; Wildlife Warzone, following anti-poaching rangers training in South Africa; and Wukan After the Uprising, the poignant story of a Chinese village which tried to achieve true democracy.

Flora is particularly committed to developing new filmmakers. She created Al Jazeera's 'Viewfinder' project to find new filmmaking talent in Latin America and Asia and shepherd them through their first broadcast projects.
