I have a strong ents background but more recently I’ve loved finding where factual can be funny. I am often brought in to add comedy to ents shows, entertainment values to fact ents shows, or to revamp existing formats as I did with Through the Keyhole with Keith Lemon for ITV, or with Big Painting Challenge for BBC1.
I’m happy in development, on location, running live galleries or in the edit.
I’ve just finished a new series with Harry Hill’s company for Sky, TX ing in 2022. I love comedy, natural history & music.
I am considered a calm, creative & cheerful leader - good at nurturing new talent & trusted with managing experienced talent. I understand tone & pitch & am great at lateral thinking to unearth fresh ideas.
I develop great relationships with the people I work with, so much so that years later presenters and producers still come to me with their ideas. I’m currently developing a few of these with some household names. I’ve got great contacts with commissioners and frequently pitch to them.
I recently wrote an open letter which has had over 2000 signatures, to call for a change in how women are treated in the industry. I founded ‘Unseen On Screen’, an anti-bullying project which has had a huge impact in the industry, plus I’ve set up ‘Cheer Up, Love!’ a series of events aimed at women in comedy but very much open to all. We discuss sensitive subjects in a safe space - the first one was on rejection & featured Meera Syal, Ben Shephard & Tiff Stevenson. Self isolation was discussed with a panel including Davina McCall, Rev Richard Coles & Darren Harriott and most recently racism in comedy & TV was debated with Dane Baptiste hosting. I approached everyone myself & they all kindly took part for free.
I love starting up new series and I particularly love comedy. I worked with comedian Joe Lycett on his first presenting role - a comedy gameshow series for BBC1 which I produced while based in Glasgow.
I have worked with most of the major ents names including Leigh Francis, Simon Cowell, Ashley Banjo, Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman, Alesha Dixon, Joe Lycett, Alison Hammond and Holly Willoughby. Read Less
