Highly experienced shooting Series Director, Producer/Director and Edit Producer, with a decade's proven track record of creating intelligent and stylish prime time factual programmes. 

I have a long background in making reputational arts and history films, fast-turnaround topical/magazine shows, and entertaining, lightly formatted obs docs. What I strive for all of my films to have in common is engaging and intelligent storytelling, presented in visually imaginative and accessible ways.

I have worked for a large range of British and international broadcasters, including prime time BBC One, Two, Four and News, Channel 5, More4, CCTV and UKTV, and my films are regularly pick of the day in the national press. 

I am an accomplished self-shooter (primarily FX6/prime lenses, but I have my own Sony A7S/gimbal kit for additional hire) and am a calm, confident and friendly leader on location, happy directing crews on complex shoots and working overseas - I hold a valid iVisa.

Editorially strong, and highly organised, with many years experience scripting films and managing teams, I pride myself on my writing skills. As an edit producer, I am practiced at delivering fast turnaround cuts, adept at crafting strong narratives, confident working with archive and able to adapt my writing tone for a range of broadcasters. 

I thrive on fast turnaround, demanding productions, regularly work with the highest profile presenters and interviewees - I have made films with everyone from Hillary Rodham Clinton to Dame Judi Dench - and am confident at collaborating with academic talent. Read Less
