About Me

I am a senior PD and edit producer with 17 years' experience making impactful factual programmes. I’ve recently developed and series produced a series for a seven figure sum and have previously managed a team of 30 but a career as a self-shooter means I know how to make budgets go further. In the edit, I write with pith and wit and have the a... Read More

Dan has the brilliant combination of a sharp editorial eye and the ability to shoot and edit produce to a very high standard under pressure. We were lucky enough to have him as PD and Edit Producer on a couple of fast turn-around Christmas specials. As lead shooting PD he dealt with the logistical and editorial challenges calmly and efficiently and then oversaw various edit suites simultaneous to shape the story incredibly quickly against tight deadlines. He’s a great writer who’s able to find creative ways to shape the story in the edit. He’s an asset to any production and a joy to have as part of the team.

Dan came on board the series the Secrets of The Imperial War Museum as a producer director with 24 hours notice and with specific responsibility for wrangling a lot of footage from different sources into compelling history programmes. The budget and deadlines were tight, he needed to shoot additional material to fit and he delivered great shows on time . Specifically he has great journalistic instincts , a sensitive hand when telling people stories and a good visual eye. He knows how to tell a story. On top of that he’s very nice to work with. He’s a great booking and I’d work with him again at the drop of a hat .

Kathy Myers Executive Producer Spring Films

Dan Aldridge Neil has the rare talent of being able to deliver quality content with highly creative visual flair. His journalistic background ensures factual accuracy and attention to detail - a skill that is further enhanced by the speed at which he can work. Once the content is taken care of, Dan then comes into his own as a film-maker, showing great creativity in both the treatments he serves up and the juggling of resources to ensure he delivers within budget. He has natural writing ability and a relaxed manner that makes him a pleasure to work with. In short, he's a film-maker I would highly recommend.

Keir MacKenzie, Series Producer Watchdog & Rogue Traders

Dan did a great job for us when he joined the Countryfile team. He’s a creative, unflappable film-maker who brings out the best in the on-screen talent. He writes well, his films are well shot and he’s a great story-teller when it comes to the edit. I’d have him back on the team anytime.
