As Series Editor on Formula One: Drive to Survive, Nigel helped deliver Netflix’s highest profile, biggest budget, unscripted series of the year, leading to its commission for a second season. His work on sports documentaries (including the acclaimed Netflix soccer series Sunderland ’Til I Die) follows his successes as series producer, writer and director of numerous documentaries (science, history, arts, observational and presenter-led) and high-end drama-docs for many U.K. channels and global broadcasters. His films have gone on to win multiple awards and nominations, including Emmy and RTS.As producer/director his films include natural history (with Sir David Attenborough), biography (featuring Jackie Chan and Joan Chen) for Discovery Asia, and writing and directing an Emmy nominated feature drama/documentary. His one-off documentary 'The Language Master' for the BBC had a global impact on language teaching, and as co-creator, series producer and director 'Fatal Attractions' for Animal Planet transformed the genre of natural history by bringing a new tone and narrative to the form, leading to four seasons of commissions.At the same time, Nigel has a parallel career in drama, directing Hollywood star talent in the narrative feature 'Mothers & Daughters' (starring Sharon Stone, Christina Ricci, Mira Sorvino, Courtney Cox amongst others). He recently collaborated with Oscar nominated DoP John Mathieson (Gladiator, Logan, X-Men, Mary Queen of Scots) developing an IMAX/Giant Screen feature documentary, as well as having numerous drama projects in development.Nigel is known for possessing a great technical and narrative skill, creating productions with spectacular visuals combined with intimate, emotional storytelling.
