My name is Maureen Moore and I finished working at my last big role with Channel 4 in April 2016 as the Production Accountant for the Creative Department. The role was newly created when I joined and involved putting it a finance structure that worked for the creative team. I really enjoyed working at C4 but I felt it was time for a change. I took some time away from the workforce and I have now to re-joined. The role you are advertising is very interesting. I am currently back into the swing of things doing a contract at a local film company, The Village Films, based in Wimbledon.
As you can see from my CV, I have over 10 years’ experience doing production accounting in the TV industry. I have built a strong set of skills and gained a wide range of knowledge across the board. I am well versed in HMRC Guidelines, Withholding Tax, VAT as well as expenses and have worked on many projects that filmed abroad.
I have had 2 previous TV production roles before joining Channel 4, Wall to Wall where I was brought in to set up systems and work as a stand-alone company Production Accountant, at Endemol I was part of a team of 8 Production Accountants. I have been responsible for running a number of projects from start to finish simultaneously. I am experienced in working on studio shows, factual programmes as well as development projects. I also find it important to invest time in mentoring the production teams in finance as they find it a bit of a “foreign” language but they are the people negotiating with the suppliers and agreeing production spend.
I hope you will consider me for the role available as I think I could offer the team great support. With my current experience and my previous experience working as a Production Manager, Studio Manager, Tour Accountant and Personal Assistant, I believe my contribution would have a positive impact.
