I’m an award winning documentary producer and director, with a strong journalistic background in current affairs. I’ve worked all over the UK and on a wide variety of challenging foreign shoots, from extreme, remote environments to suburban streets. I've made feature length documentaries, produced lightly formatted series and run in depth investigations. I strive to get the best out of everyone I work with; colleagues, crew and contributors. I specialise in securing difficult access to difficult characters and institutions, to make captivating, beautiful and popular television.I self-shoot to a very high standard, capturing tough actuality in a striking and cinematic way. I can light interviews in challenging situations and solve every technical challenge on location. I'm also extremely comfortable with the latest cameras, sliders, drones and rigs. I have many years of experience directing, and collaborating with camera operators, and I always work efficiently and creatively in the edit.I recently completely BBC Safeguarding Trust modules in Observational Documentaries, Natural History Programmes, Factual Drama, Factual TV, Childrens' Programmes and Trust Dilemmas in TV.
