I am a Producer with extensive experience making prime time history, music, arts and science Specialist Factual programmes, including Britain’s Forgotten Slave Owners, winner of the Specialist Factual BAFTA 2016; and a strong track record working in development, securing commissions and secondary funding, including Our Classical Century (BBC Four), Prejudice & Pride (BBC Four) and, working alongside David Olusoga, Black & British: A Forgotten History (BBC Two) 

With a strong academic background in history, I have always enjoyed finding ways of telling compelling history and bringing it to a wide audience.  I've worked on productions that tell big narrative driven history as well as ones that focus on individual characters and their role and significance in wider, historic events.  I have excellent research skills, particularly discovering and exploring rare archive material, identifying great stories, characters and negotiating access to filming locations.  I love working alongside directors and the wider production team bringing this research to script and screen.   

Production and development overview: 
* Produced and developed programmes across all major UK broadcasters, SVODs and audio particularly for Specialist Factual (History, Science, Arts, Music) but also Fact-Ent, Documentary-Drama, Scripted Drama and Sport.

* Extensive filming experience, accessing complex locations and producing on location and remotely (UK, Europe, North Africa, Caribbean, Caucasus and USA) with self shooting experience on the C300 and FX6.

* Confident generating ideas (TV and audio), taking them through development to commission, undertaking in-depth research, writing compelling decks, shooting taster tapes and directing sizzles.

* Highly experienced researching (including genealogical research, using archives and sourcing archive footage)

* Confident casting talking head contributors, from A-list celebrities, academics to World War Two veterans; casting volunteers and members of the public (for experiential/interactive sequences); working on productions that require sensitive and long-term contributor care and collaboration.

* Confident working with new and experienced presenters, high profile talent and script writers

* Experienced fact-checking and working with legal and compliance teams across sensitive and legally complex films.

* Experience edit producing short form films and re-versioning programmes (for World Wide); scripting; compiling script assemblies for the edit

* Lived in the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan and Georgia) between 2016-2018, working for Channel 4 Grand Prix as well as exploring the region, its history and uncovering Soviet archive for TV and radio development.

* Academic background in History, African History; good working knowledge of French.  Basic German.  Basic Russian.   

* I am always looking to expand and develop these skills in every role I have.
