In his solo works, he combines innovative sounds, originality and delicate arrangements to create suggestive, mysterious and inspiring musical paintings. As an artist, he constantly defies expectations by pushing his own musical boundaries. With a mixed heritage, Mathieu is exposed at an early age to French, North African and British cultures.
At the age of 15, he teaches himself guitar, singing and songwriting. After relocating to London, he fronts his first band composing original songs and performing in the Acid Jazz era of the early 90s. He then works on his solo material whilst studying music production and engineering at Pointblank College. There, Mathieu delves further into his passion for Soul music by producing independent Soul singers and Hip-Hop artists in the UK under the moniker Soulem productions.
Later, under his company Intricuts music, Mathieu composes and produces music for successful TV shows for networks such as BBC, Channel 4, Bravo and Sky1, for top production companies as well as for UK celebrities. He acts as composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist, vocal coach and musical director. He is proficient at composing for piano, strings, brass, voices, woodwinds and percussions.
He further studies composing for Film and TV and theory at Berklee College of Music online and orchestration at the Hollywood Music Orchestration Workshop with Conrad Pope in Vienna, Austria. Under his own name, he scores festival nominated and prized independent short films, feature films and documentaries. Mathieu is a BAFTA CREW 2016 and 2017 recipient, a John Brabourne Awards 2017 awardee and an LSO Soundhub Associate for 2017/2018/2019. His independent music releases are currently archived at the British Library via Popular Music curator Andy Linehan. He has received numerous outstanding reviews and praises since his first E.P released in 2017 and he continues to attract growing acclaim worldwide. For more information:
