Alongside my academic research, I have developed extensive practical experience researching complex real-world events, organisations and operational environments, including international disasters, mass-fatality incidents, humanitarian emergencies, aviation incidents, emergency response and public protection. My research experience includes investigating historical disaster and crisis events, researching resilience and emergency management practices, identifying and interviewing subject-matter experts, developing evidence-based briefings and training materials, and translating complex technical or operational information into clear, accessible content for different audiences. I also hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and have delivered research-led training and lectures on crisis management, resilience and related subjects.I have a broad and genuinely curious research interest, with particular interests in investigative and specialist factual research across humanitarian response, security and counter-terrorism, fatality and family assistance operations, NGOs and charities, transport markets and aviation, human trafficking, public protection, emergency planning and response, disaster management and wider business and organisational resilience.I am comfortable working with sensitive subject matter, conducting detailed desk research, analysing information from multiple sources, identifying and engaging relevant experts and stakeholders, and working independently to develop a story or research brief. My frontline experience also gives me an understanding of how major incidents and crises unfold in practice, providing a valuable perspective when researching real-world stories.I have an unconditional offer to commence an MSc Law Conversion at The University of Law in January 2027, further developing my research interests in law, public protection, regulation and investigative subjects.I am particularly interested in factual, documentary, specialist factual, investigative, history, current affairs, science, aviation, disaster and human-interest programming, and am keen to bring my research skills and specialist knowledge to television and film projects.
