I am currently looking for a position within a production department, either full time or freelance basis. I can work across roles, such as Production Coordinator, Assitant Producer, junior producer, etc.
For the last two years, I have been working at a fast growing post production company. With the nature of a start up, we all wore many hats, with my main responsibility being the Head of Sales. Whilst I enjoyed the experience of helping to build something from the ground up, I miss the excitement of working in production and I am eager to apply for this position. I will hopefully show I am the right candidate for the position in this letter, but in short, I bring ideas, energy and elbow grease. Creative enough to think differently, hands on enough to fix what needs to be fixed and hungry for the chance to prove it.
Making films, documentaries and content has always fascinated me. From developing an idea, right the way through to production and post production. Whilst at university, many of my fellow students aspired to get their hands on the camera, direct or write; whereas my passion for filmmaking is the procedures and planning of a production to give the crew, cast or contributors the resources to perform their best work.
After leaving university in 2023, I began focussing on working as a freelance Assistant director to build my knowledge and understand the craft further. My experience as an AD taught me the importance of organisation, preparation and clear communication in a fast paced production environment. Working across shoots required me to coordinate multiple moving parts, anticipate potential issues, prioritise competing demands and remain calm when plans inevitably changed. I developed a practical, solution focused approach to problem solving and became comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions under pressure and communicating effectively with a wide range of people, from crew and talent to production teams. This experience gave me a strong understanding of how much detailed preparation behind the scenes is essential to ensuring a shoot runs efficiently and safely.
After this, my role in post production sales has given me valuable experience on the commercial and client facing side of the industry. Working directly with clients has taught me how to manage expectations, communicate professionally and balance creative ambitions with practical considerations like budgets, deadlines and resources. Whilst there, I also worked as production manager on a music video for Zold Blood's 'Constant State'. I was responsible for hiring cast, crew and equipment, as well as negotiating location fees, tracking costs and ensuring the clients were happy with what we were creating for them.
I also worked as an assistant producer on a feature film shot at the end of 2025. I was responsible for fixing issues quickly when they arose on set, book cast and crew travel and accommodation, being the point of contact on set and helping to keep things running smoothly. My combination of production and client facing experience gives me a well rounded understanding of what is required to deliver successful content and the ability to build relationships with freelancers and co workers.
I am highly organised, confident in communicating with different personalities and adapting my approach depending on the situation. I understand that production coordination is often about anticipating what might be needed before it becomes an issue and used to managing multiple priorities at once; whether that's arranging suppliers, tracking costs and expenses, maintaining records, supporting recces or keeping equipment, props and footage accounted for. I take pride in being detail oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture and in finding practical solutions while avoiding unnecessary spend.
I enjoy the detail of coordinating locations, crew, suppliers, equipment and documentation and I understand the importance of ensuring risk assessments, releases, permits and other paperwork are in place. I always aim to achieve what is needed of me while keeping communication clear so everyone knows what's expected of them and I'm equally comfortable being hands on when something needs solving quickly on set.I would welcome the opportunity to bring my production experience, organisational skills and client focused approach to a production team. I am enthusiastic about contributing to creative productions and would be excited to develop further within a production environment that values initiative, collaboration and attention to detail.
