I loved this experience and feel am I suited to the role of Production Assistant, but my goal has always been to work within Documentary and, from a creative point of view, I would love to learn more about the development side of it all.
As part of my Film Production course at University, I directed a short documentary about Clare’s Law; this recently won a Student Royal Television Society Award for Journalism and is being used within police forces’ officer training across the country. This only made me keener to gain experience and contacts within Documentary. Directing my own short documentaries in between freelance work is something I am very passionate about and I am currently editing my second short documentary about a group of Ukrainian women in Gloucester who hand weave camouflage netting to send to the front line.
I am available for work at the moment and, while currently based in London, I am keen to relocate to Scotland so I would love to stay on your radar for any upcoming projects, shadowing opportunities or assistant vacancies you think I might be a good fit for. I would greatly value any opportunity to learn more about how to tell important stories through documentary filmmaking and am grateful for any time you could offer me to discuss this side of the industry.
