During lockdown, I went back to college and did my NCTJ Level 5 Diploma in Multimedia Journalism and am now working towards my senior qualification. My background in perofrming arts means I have lots of transferable skills in the world of broadcast journalism. I am confident speaking to camera and doing live radio reports, as well as newsreading.
I have two years of experience working for The Northern Echo newspaper and two and a half years of experience freelancing at BBS Radio Tees and BBC Newcastle.
I am now looking at gaining more experience in children's media. As I have worked with childrren a lot, both as a drama teacher and as a children's entertainer, I know I can engage with children well and I know how to get on their level. I would love to come to Salford to spend some time working with the teams at CBBC or CBeeBies.
I am really interested in spending time in some more newsrooms across the country and have a real variety of skills in broadcasting, writing, and editing radio and TV packlages together.
Presenting is another area I am really keen to expand on my experience. I have podcasting experience, as well conducting live interviews on Facebook and Instagram Lives during my time at The Northern Echo.
